Character Full-Name and Titles::
Sarah Blackwater

Character Race and Class::
Half Blood Elf Rogue

Why does your character wish to join Blackguard? If the answer is "gold", tell us why gold matters to them.:
There would be quite a few reasons to why she would be interested in joining - chief among them being a mixture of loneliness and a longing for someone she can trust to have her back.

Describe your character's past. Where did they grow up? How did they learn their trade? What kind of work history do they have? Whatever you think is relevant to who they are – but aim for at least 3 full lines.:
Sarah initially grew up on the streets of stormwind, with her mother dying at the age of 5. At the age of 10, she was taken in by her new "Father" whom had her trained - at first just in general social code of conduct, but subsequently in a variety of skills - these includes poisons (she is no expert, though), close combat (primarily unarmed or with daggers, both melee and thrown), spellcasting (she was trained as a shadowpriest before she abandoned her studies for a more combat-focused approach), disguises and infiltration, and just generally, learning how to approach problems and subsequently solve them. She's used to operating alone, generally without a safety-net, but have worked with others in the past.

During the training, she never put much thought to her racial heritage - her tutors were of different races (Combat was taught by a troll, casting by a blood elf, poisons by an undead etc.), and since she never really visited the larger cities during the training, it didn't seem to be much of a big deal - granted, humans always looked at her a bit weirdly and so did the Elves, but it wasn't untill she was 20 that she realized just how unwelcome half-elves were. It did not bother her much at first - she had been a loner for most of her life - but with adolescense came a change of priority, and through much trial-and-error, she finally found a few friends she trusted and whom weren't put off by her heritage - nevertheless, she decided that she would try and hide her mixed blood heritage as much as she could.

15 years after she were picked up on the streets of Stormwind, most of which were spent in intense training, things changed - something happened in her and her adopted father's life that forced her to run - an event that has since conspired to seperate her from many of the friends she made, as well as from her adopted father and uncle - for their safety, as much as for her own.

Tell us about your character's skillset. What can they do that would be valuable to a mercenary company?:
Sarah would probably work best as a specialist, as she has very little teamwork training - she would probably excel as a scout for other forces, or as a team of specialist operators used to infiltrate organisations, sabotage runs and the likes.

What are your character's feelings regarding the other Horde races?:
Neutral - so long as they treat her with respect, she will return it.

Old enemies, old loyalties - does your character have them? Who with?:
She does have some old enemies and old loyalties - the first being something she will deal with personally should they return, and the second being mostly to a few select friends she still holds contact with and to her "Father", should he be in need.

Finally, write a quick paragraph, describing your character doing something typical to them. (This is to help us get a feel for how you play, so make it something you might type in RP.):
Sarah stands leaning up against the pole as a male walks up to a training dummy near her. Her eyes remain half-closed, as if the events around her matters little but closer study would reveal how she clearly studies the fighting style, her body stiffening subtly at his approach, like a coil ready to spring... She remains like this for a few moments before she relaxes again, seemingly disinterested in the world in truth now.
After a few minutes, the male leaves and as noone else remains at the training ground for Sarah to study, she abscently pulls forth her daggers and go to work on the dummy, working up a sweat quickly as strike after strike hits the poor target....

Blackguard deals with mature themes and content. Please confirm you, the player, are over 18.:
Yes

Why do you wish to join Blackguard?:
I have been a long time RPer on AD, but recently took a break from wow - after returning, I found that most of the people I rped with back then have moved on, and that my guild of back then was pretty much dead. As such, I'm interested in meeting new people, and this seems to very much fit both my character and myself quite well - I have read all the Black Company books, and I believe Sarah would fit in quite well.

Tell us a bit about yourself. Hobbies, job, talents, accomplishments, whatever you're comfortable sharing.:
I'm currently studying Software engineering which gives me lots of game time during some periods, and less time during others. Appart from that, I generally play games, read alot (mostly fantasy - I'm a great fan of the Black Company and likeminded series, such as Steven Eriksons The Malazan book of the Fallen), and spend time with the people around me, both online and physically around. I am usually quite easygoing and relaxed, very hard to anger or annoy and generally, I've been described as pretty easy to be around (Except my humor is quite.... Odd..... At times)

Note: My current character's IG name is different from the character name as I initally had two different characters, subsequently transferred one to alliance (long ago), but when I returned to wow recently, I found I primarily liked the one I transferred away, and currently, I haven't had the cash necesarry for a renaming.

Tell us about your background in roleplay.:
I have been rping on wow ever since Burning Crusade, and this has almost primarily been my passion for playing wow - first on alliance and now on Horde.
Apart from that, I play Pathfinder and also played D&D 3.5 and have done so for the last 4 years or so.

'lo there Isania, thanks for your application!
As the forum states, recruitment is closed for the time being as we're letting our newest prospects get comfortable with the guild.
We'll get back to you soon as it opens again. :)

Hi Sarah,
Unfortunately we don't feel that the character would be a good fit for the guild right now. Thanks for your application, though.
